SENIOR LADIES
Kilcummin will provide the opposition to our Senior ladies in the Bons Secours Junior B Championship final following a tightly contested semi final win over Castlegregory / Annauscaul . The game played at the coastal village in ideal conditions last Sunday afternoon would eventually be decided by a first half penalty, well dispatched by Ciara Randles. It gave the ladies a four point half time cushion, 1-5 to 0-4. The westerners pushed hard in the second half, even plundering a goal in the fiftieth minute , but the advantage was maintained throughout the second period courtesy of some smart finishing and stoic defending.  The final against Kilcummin will be the latest meeting in the rivalry  between the sides which has stretched over an extended period. Time, date and venue to be confirmed.

U10 GIRLS
The U10 girls enjoyed an end of season trip through the Gap of Dunloe last Sunday. The girls set off from Kate Kearneys and walked to Lord Brandon’s cottage where they met Kerry stars Fiadhna Tangney and Hannah O’Donoghue.
The girls then took the boat trip down to Ross Castle with Donal Dux O Donoghue, where they were collected by Pat Moynihan’s Big Red Bus. The day concluded at Four Star Pizza, where the pizza was well and truly devoured.. Thanks to all the girls and coaches for a great season. Special word of thanks to Pat Moynihan, Seanie Culloty, and Donal “Dux “ O’Donoghue. A great day was had by all no doubt.

U17 LADIES
Our U17 side took the field against Rathmore on Monday evening  in the County Championship quarter final played in sunny Direen . Starting brightly they   dominated the early exchanges and led aathalf time by 4-05 to 2-05. The second half was a bit more tense and tighter , with Rathmore always pushing before we ran out winners on a score of 5-10 to 3-08. Next up is a semi-final against MKL Gaels with time, date, and venue to be confirmed.

SENIOR B TEAM
Having lost out to a fancied Rathmore side in the first round, our Senior B team made the short trip to Fossa for the Molyneaux Cup Shield semi final. All the damage was done in the first half by the home side when it looked like they had built up an unassailable lead. But huge credit to the lads they battled away and when the final whistle there was only three points between the sides. Final score Killarney Legion 4-10 Fossa 3-16. Next up is an O Sullivan Cup tie , away to Firies, with fixture details announced in due course.

U11 BOYS
The weather played it part in contributing to a very entertaining and sporting games for our U11 boys in Direen last Thursday evening .
Rathmore provided the opposition and a good stern test for both teams which helped to produce two very good games. Thanks very much to the referees, Fergal Moynihan and one of our younger referees, Evan Cox, who did a great job offficiating which lent to the entertainment . This marked the end of scheduled games for the team , and they can enjoy the last few weeks of the academy before they graduate to the big leagues after seven years on the Saturday morning shift.
Ballincollig and Ballyhass were the destinations this Saturday for a day full of football and adventures in the Rebel county. Many thanks to Ballincollig for their hospitality also and Seanie in Four Star Pizza who fed the troops upon their arrival back home. A sound night sleep was had by all no doubt.

U17 BOYS
The minor boys hit for Rathmore short a number of regulars for the quarter final of the East Kerry Division 1 championship on Sunday. Although scores were at a premium it didn't lack for incident with plenty of goalmouth action. Leading at half time by 0-5 to 0-3 they were well in the game but a penalty, awarded to Rathmore, swung the game in the home sides favour. Battling to the end they just fell short by four points, 1-7 to 0-6. They can now look forward to competing in the Division 2 Championship with confidence following this display.
