SENIOR MEN
No joy for our Senior Men in the Division 1 Derby with our neighbours Dr Crokes in a game played in Fitzgerald Stadium last Friday night. There was never much in the game and so it was that a goal would be crucial. It fell to the Lewis Road outfit who had the benefit of a one point lead at the final whistle. Final.score Killarney Legion 0-13 Dr Crokes 1-11. The Division 6 team found Kenmare Shamrocks a bit too hot on Saturday evening in Direen . Still the games are providing ideal opportunities to our younger players to build up experience.
U10 GIRLS BLITZ
A big thank you to everyone who helped out with last Saturdays blitz and Feile fundraising bake sale . Anyone who helped with baking, to manning the tables, helping with clean up and much more . A special mention goes to Eamon Maguire for helping to lay out the pitches from early morning, setting up tables & chairs, kids play area and the running of the day. Thanks to
Sharon O Shea for all her work running the shop and Shelly Browne for managing the bake sale and the “staff”. And to our refs on the day Justin Healy, Kieran O Shea, Ian Bowler, James Murphy and Liam O Toole - we couldn’t have run it without them. Thanks to our club members who helped the man the car park - not an easy job.
Finally, to our Feile players who helped out on the day , it was great to see them taking ownership of it .
U12 GIRLS
This week our U12 girls made a trip to Tralee to take on John Mitchels . After a slow start, our girls found their rhythm after the first quarter . They started to show their ability , teamwork, and score taking . John Mitchels to their credit put in a stellar performance of their own and ensured there was a good competitive and sporting occasion .Thanks to John Mitchels for hosting and organising the referees who did an excellent job
U12 BOYS
There was great news for our Under 12 boys team who have been successful in their application to play in Croke Park on Tuesday July 29th . They will get one hour on the field playing against teams from all over ireland and this will be followed by a tour of the stadium and museum. The Under 12 management team will be busy organising the day and insuring the boys have a day to remember . It would be great if Kerry won the All Ireland on the same field two days before hand.
