DONAL CURTIN CUP SEMI FINAL
Our Senior Ladies welcomed the current senior county and Munster champions Castleisland Desmond’s to Derreen on Monday evening for the semi-final of the Credit Union Donal Curtin Division 2 Cup. A tough battle was expected between the two sides, with the hosts taking the spoils in the earlier season league game. The opening exchanges were hard fought with scores from either side with Laura Healy and Kate McCarthy raising white flags for the home team. The visitors took control of the game mid way through the half with 3 unanswered points with former Kerry star Lorraine Scanlon showing her class around the middle . A well worked move saw Legion youngster Eva o Shea in for a well worked point with only inches separating it from a green flag. Further points were exchanged, the score again from the trusty left boot of Laura Healy, leaving the half time score at Killarney Legion 0-04 Castleisland Desmonds  0-06 . The second half saw the visitors take advantage of the breeze on their backs with some well worked scores to increase the lead.  Lorraine Scanlon shows that class doesn’t age, kicking some fine scores. To the ladies credit, they stayed in the game , and with minutes to go, they struck for goal through Ellen Coffey, adding to her earlier point, to leave only 4 between the teams. With time almost up, another attack was mounted and eventhough the ball hit the net again, with a cracking kick from Kate McCarthy, play was called back for a free kick before the full time whistle was blown. Castleisland Desmond’s deservedly advance to the final after an impressive performance on a score of 0-13 to 1-06. The Ladies can hold their heads up high after only being promoted to Division 2 this year. With lots of young blood introduced during the campaign and some experienced heads to return, hopes are high for the forthcoming club league and ultimately the Junior Championship.

SENIOR COUNTY LEAGUE
The final round of the Senior County League takes place this Saturday at 5pm when Rathmore are the visitors to Direen for the Division 1 clash. The same two sides are down to meet in Rathbeg in the Division 6 equivalent.  Stay tuned to our social media channels for any updates on fixtures.

U15 LADIES FEILE
On Saturday, our U15 ladies travelled to Mallow, Co. Cork to proudly represent Kerry in Division 2 of the regional Féile. The team put in outstanding performances, going unbeaten in the group stage with impressive wins over St. Pats (Waterford), Mourneabbey (Cork), and Ballyfin (Laois). They advanced to the Cup Semi-Final, where they faced the host club Mallow — strong favourites for the title. Despite a determined display and tireless work rate, our girls were edged out in a hard-fought match. The players showed great skill, heart, and sportsmanship throughout the day and were a credit to their club, coaches, and families. A special thank you to Golden Chopsticks and Richard Zhu & Team for generously hosting us for the team meal that evening — a well-deserved celebration of their fantastic efforts.
