EAST KERRY ALL STARS
Eventhough the O Donoghue Cup campaign ended in huge disappointment, with a narrow to Dr Crokes in the decider, eight players have been nominated for East Kerry All Stars. Brian Kelly, Cian Gammell, Peter O Sullivan, Darragh O Doherty, Jamie Alade, Darragh Lyne and Ryan Grady are all in the running for recognition. The event takes place this Friday, February 2nd in the GlenEagle Hotel.
MOTHERS AND OTHERS
One of the big success stories in the club in recent years has been our Mothers and Others group. Not only do they coach within the club but they have set up Social walking groups, gym nights for Ladies and are known to play a little football too. To that end they have represented the club on a Munster and a National stage but now they are going international. They have been invited to an International competition which takes place in April. The Club will be backing them as they go and a number of fundraising events will also be held in the coming weeks , in which we urge the club members and supporters to get behind. More details anon.
FIXTURES CALENDAR
The calendar for the year ahead is starting to take shape. The Senior County League commences on the weekend of March 23/24th with a more condensed time frame, the final round being on the weekend of June 22nd /23rd. The Club Championships are slated for late July/early August , all dependent of course on Kerrys progress in trying to capture Sam Maguire.
KERRY LADIES
Another win for the Kerry Ladies in the National League this time over Waterford in the Fitzgerald Stadium. Once again Keri-Ann Hanrahan was selected from the start and is no doubt gaining valuable experience at the highest level. Not for the first time the team would be thankful to Louise Ni Mhuircheartaigh who climbed off the bench to apply the finishing touch.
