SENIOR MEN
Nigel Shevlins side sit in second place in Division 1 of the County League following their latest win , this time over Beaufort on Sunday afternoon. And while the sun may not have shone , the free scoring Ryan O Grady certainly lit up the game , hitting ten points which accounted for exactly half of his sides total. It was Ryan who struck the opening two points , soon followed by a Cian Gammell effort to open up an early three point advantage. David and Eoghan O Sullivan were next on target as the visitors struggled early on. Finbarr Murphy followed his cousin onto the scoresheet and with the half entering its final stages it was double scores, 0-8 to 0-4. Beaufort improved as the half went on and further points from David O Sullivan and Finbarr Murphy made it 0-10 to 0-06 at the interval. Beaufort grew into the game early in the second half, a point emphasised by an early scoring run  which yielded 1-1 and tied up the game. David Sullivans last act of the game was to steady the ship before making way for Oisin Fleming with Bryan Walsh also coming on for Josh Bowler. That early Beaufort onslaught served to kick start a purple patch with Ryan O Grady particularly influential, and Peter McCarthy and Cian Gammell also getting in on the act. But Beaufort came again, hitting another 1-1 to close the gap to three points, 0-17 to 2-8. But there was no danger the Mid Kerry side would gatecrash the party as Ryan O'Grady and Oisin Fleming closed out the game to put the seal on a 0-20 to 2-8 win.

U12 GIRLS
The first Go Games of 2025 for the U12 girls took place on Tuesday evening in Direen against Listowel Emmets. Two teams from both sides played out two great games of football on an excellent evening for football. Legion down a few girls due to other sporting commitments played their best and excellent football against an equally good and very impressive Listowel Emmets side . These games can not take place without the referees who take up the whistle and huge thanks to Amy Walshe who again came to help out on the evening and did an excellent job .

FEILE GIRLS
Pride of place this week goes to the U15 team who have qualified for Feile, which takes place at the end of June. Pitted in the same group as Ballymacelligott and Laune Rangers they over came an hard earned draw with Laune Rangers to beat the same opposition in the final. It promises to be an exciting build up to what is always a showpiece event.
Results  Killarney Legion 2-10 Ballymac 0-2, Killarney Legion 1-7 Laune Rangers 0-10 , Killarney Legion 2-3 Laune Rangers 1-5.(Final)

U14 BOYS
On a fine evening perfect for football, our U14 boys battled bravely at home against a physically strong and well-organised Ballyduff side. Despite falling behind 1-6 to 2-11 at the break, the lads showed real character in the second half, launching a spirited comeback to get within striking distance. By the final whistle, Ballyduff edged it 3-21 to 5-10, but the never-say-die attitude and slick attacking were a credit to the team.  While the result didn’t go our way, the lads left everything on the pitch.
After that tough outing on Tuesday, the lads wree back in action on Friday evening with a point to prove and they did so in emphatic fashion. Producing a dominant display to see off a spirited Ardfert side, on an impressive scoreline of 5-16 to 1-13 .  Half timehad  already seen  a strong foundation being built , leading 5-6 to 1-4, that reflected their dominance. The midfield duo controlled the tempo brilliantly, while the forwards capitalised on nearly every opportunity that came their way. Our goalkeeper made some fantastic saves and the backs made life very difficult for the Ardfert forwards. In the second half, Ardfert came more into the game,  adding 9 points to their tally, but the lads always held the upper hand .

RALLY OF THE LAKERS
Well done to Noel O Sullivan who alongside driver Callum Devine picked up their fourth consecutive win in last weekend Killarney Rally of the Lakers. As co driver Noel would have an important job keeping Callum on his toes, something he picked up no doubt from his Legion goalkeeping days , keeping his back line in check.
