SENIOR MEN
The County League Division 1 campaign culminated with a win over a Kerins O Rahillys side who themselves were desperate for the points to avoid getting lured into a relegation position.  The upshot of the win is O Rahillys now face town rivals Austin Stacks in a relegation play off. Victory was not enough to deny Dr Crokes the league honours, their draw over Milltown/ Castlemaine sealed the deal, but the manner of the performance was certainly an improvement on recent displays. A tight first half saw Strand Road go in with a two point lead but a Peter McCarthy goal with ten minutes to go put us on the way to a 1-14 to 1-13 win. Team...Brian Kelly , Rob Leen, Danny Sheahan, Podge O'Connor(0-1), Darragh Fleming, Darragh O Doherty, Kieran O Donoghue(0-1), Padraig Lucey, Jamie Alade(0-1), Eoghan O Sullivan(0-1), Jonathan Lyne(0-1), Finbarr Murphy(0-3), Will Shine(0-3), Jamie O Sullivan(0-1), Peter McCarthy(1-2).
Subs.. Billy McGuire, Shaun Keane.

SENIOR LADIES

Our Senior Ladies concluded their Club League programme with a full merited and hard fought win over Clounmacon / Moyvane in Direen on Monday July 3rd. A strong first half showing, which yielded 1-10, sowed the seeds for the win and although the visitors battled hard in the second half , two well timed goals sealed the deal for the Legion ladies. The game was a send off for Tara Murphy who is exploring Europe for the coming months. Safe travels Tara. Full time score Killarney Legion 3-12 Clounmacon/ Moyvane 4-3.

LADIES FOOTBALL UPDATE
Our U12 Girls teams had a successful week with both recording wins. The Green team hosted the always competitive MKL Gaels in Direen where a strong second half showing carried the points. The White team were in a blustery Reenard and a late late show earned them the win. A great battle considering they played against the elements in the second period. There should be a good bounce in training after those efforts.
Fossa visited Direen on a wet and windy Friday evening but the conditions did not detract from a great spectacle. A nip and tuck affair saw Fossa come out on top by just two points. This U14 Division 3 encounter had it all and the girls should be very proud of their efforts. Earlier in the week the second team had a slightly more benign evening and again produced a titanic display to eventually get the better of a very useful John Mitchels outfit.  The three goals they struck in the opening half had a major bearing on the outcome and that saw them run out 4-12 to 3-8 winners. They followed that up on Sunday with another win  in a sunny Ballyduff in the third round.   Both teams served up a fantastic game of football with the Legion girls coming away with the spoils on the final score of 2-9 to 1-5.  Next up is a home game against Dr Crokes.
The Minor team resumed their County League campaign, after the State Examinations, and showed a vigour in Rathmore that helped them to a 4-15 to 3-6 win. Having beaten Kilcummin and lost to ISG they sit handily placed as the league continues in the weeks ahead.

JUVENILE BOYS
Our Under 9 boys team hosted Na Gaeil on a sunny Sunday morning in Direen. We had 20 boys in action, and they played two fantastic games displaying all the skills they had picked up over the last few months. Well done to the boys, coaches, parents, and Na Gaeil for making the journey to Killarney in what was a great morning of football. 👏
Our under 15 B team played their third and final group game in the East Kerry league in Direen on Friday evening . Aided by the wind in the first half scores were hard to come by and after 25 minutes we only found ourselves 0- 3 to 0- 2 up after good Crokes defending. However we hit a quick flurry ,3-2 , just before the half time whistle. The lads quickly built on the lead in the second half with some great defending and quick counter attacks. This result puts us in an East Kerry semi final. Opposition and venue to be decided.
