SENIOR MEN

Our County League Division 1 ambitions took a major hit in Dingle last Friday evening as we had no answer to the intensity of the relegation haunted hosts. The very minimum required now is a victory over Kerins O Rahillys in the final round of the competition, with the Strand Road outfit themselves not sure of their own status and needing something from the game. But that will not be enough on its own as Dr Crokes will be assured of the title with just a point against Milltown/ Castlemaine in the Mid Kerry venue. At time of writing 2pm on Sunday, July 9th, is pencilled in  for the trip to Tralee.Full time score in Dingle, Killarney Legion 0-8 Dingle 2-12.
The Division 6 side faced local rivals Dr Crokes in Direen on Friday evening also but had little luck going down on a 0-12 to 0-7 scoreline. They have a free weekend coming.

LADIES UPDATE
The Legion U12 Girls Green team travelled to Glenflesk in their 2nd match of the County league. The hosts got into their stride early on and forced the girls to dig deep and go on the attack. The girls improved with every quarter played and they showed great heart, team spirit and drive to keep going until the final whistle and Legion was rewarded with the points on the night. Well done to all the girls for battling so hard. They should be proud of their efforts!! Thank you to Glensflesk for a sporting game and thank you to the ref and all the supporters who travelled and encouraged the girls. The White hosted Dr Crokes and proved too strong for our local rivals.
In another local Derby our U14 Girls had too much in their locker for Kilcummin running out comfortable winners. Our second team travelled to Ballybunion but found Beale too tough nut to crack. They are at home to John Mitchels this Monday, July 3rd at 6.30pm.
The U16 ladies maintained their 100% record in their County League  with a home win over a spirited Na Gaeil side. With both teams short a number of regulars, it was the Legion girls who came out on top with a strong team performance. In the final round of group games  Moyvane/Duagh will visit Direen.

JUVENILE BOYS
In the 2nd round of the East Kerry U15 League, our B team were away to Kenmare B.  Legion ,playing with the breeze in the first half, built up a lead against a Kenmare side who were short a few players. The hosts made a game of it in the second half but Legion took the points and have one more group game next week.
The first team ensured a double over Kenmare Shamrocks but fair to say they were short a number of regulars and the scoreline would not reflect the real standing of both clubs. Following last week's win over Rathmore the lads currently have a 100% record in the competition.

KIERAN MOLONEY
Well done to our U13 player Kieran Moloney who won an All Ireland silver medal when representing Killarney Valley AC in the U13 Shot Putt in Tullamore last weekend.

BABY JOY
Congrats to Senior player Jamie O Sullivan and his wife Bridie on the arrival of baby Mae on Monday June 26th. We wish the newly formed family the very best for the future.
