SENIOR MEN
Our Senior Men lost their 100% record in the County League but not their unbeaten record as they drew with local rivals Dr Crokes in sunny Direen on Sunday. The visitors made full use of the breeze in the opening half running into a 0-10 to 0-6 half time lead, cousins Ryan O Grady, Peter McCarthy and Finbarr Murphy sharing the first half scoring load. With the wind to their backs a visible improvement could be seen in the second half with a Ryan O'Grady goal putting them 1-8 to 0-10 to the good. Dr Crokes responded well though, a Kieran O Donoghue black card dovetailing with this period, and they pushed two clear again. But the pendulum swung again as Dr Crokes were reduced to fourteen men coinciding with our return to the full compliment.  Points from Jamie O Sullivan, Ryan O'Grady and crucially Darragh Lyne saw the game end in a share of the spoils.
Team.. Brian Kelly, Rob Leen, Danny Sheahan, Kieran O Donoghue, Peter O Sullivan, Darragh O Doherty, Cian Gammell, Darragh Lyne(0-1), Padraig Lucey, Eoghan O Sullivan, Jonathan Lyne, Finbarr Murphy(0-4), Ryan O Grady(1-2), Jamie O Sullivan(0-2), Peter McCarthy(0-2).
Subs.. Podge O'Connor,Jamie Alade,Luke O Donoghue, Thomas Moriarty, Shaun Keane.
The Senior B Team had a successful outing with a 1-14 to 0-11 win over Kilcummin in a game played in Direen earlier in the afternoon.

KERRY U20sWilliam Shine was the star turn in Kerry's hard fought win over Clare in the Munster U20 Football semi final played in Austin Stack Park last Monday. Operating in the full forward line he chipped in with ten points, half from play, and Tomas O Ses side now head to Pairc Ui Chaoimh to face old foes Cork in the final which takes place on Monday April 24th. Not the only connection to the team , Darragh Fleming picked up an untimely injury when pushing for a starting berth, Brian Kelly is the goalkeeping coach while former Senior team trainer Pat Flanagan has them in peak shape.

JUVENILE BOYS UPDATE
The first of the Under 9 Go Games fixtures started last Wednesday as 28 Legion boys took to the field. The large crowd present were treated to games where skill, effort, and teamwork were to the fore. Thank you to Laune Rangers for making the trip in.Our Under 11 boys were out again on Thursday last against Austin Stacks. Both clubs had 3 teams playing in the evening, and our own 28 lads tried their best against a strong Austin Stacks side . Thanks to the three referees and Donal O Donoghue and John Keane for getting the fields ready for the evening's action. Thanks also to Austin Stacks for coming to visit us in sunny Direen.

The hive of activity that was Direen on Sunday concluded with two U13 games in the County League. Laune Rangers were in town and in the Division 9 game they played with the wind in the first half and with 3 goals led by 9 points at the break. But the Legion boys came back very well in the second half and got some great scores but were pipped by just one point in the end. Well done to Laune Rangers on the win. Our boys finish Phase 1 of their campaign in Tralee this Thursday evening.
A tremendous start to the game for our Division 1 team paved the way for a good win .Some excellent team scores from the boys throughout the game were all needed as Laune Rangers kept going right to the end but we were too strong on this occasion. These boys have now finished Phase 1. We ended up in second place on seven points from 5 games, just behind the winners Na Gaeil on 8 points. We look forward to the Phase 2 of the games.

A mixed week for our U15 Boys. The Division 9 team had a run out against an albeit understrength Fossa side but they came out on top displaying great skill and taking some fine scores against a gallant home side on Wednesday. On Friday the Division 1 side travelled to face what is arguably the strongest team in the group, John Mitchels. When these sides last met the Tralee club had the upper hand throughout but a much improved showing from our lads saw a far more competitive game. Despite going down on a 1-10 to 0-6 scoreline the improvement was there for everyone to see.

LADIES UPDATE
The U14 girls were in round 4 action of the County League on Sunday with Na Gaeil  visitors to a sunny Direen. The home side got straight down to business and opened the scoring with a green flag from the throw in. Both sides made good use of the open spaces and the visitors registered some nice points with  good inside forward play. The Legion girls were just that bit more clinical than their opponents and ran out comfortable winners in the end.
Our U16s ladies were in County League action on Thursday when Beaufort visited Direen in the second round. On what was a beautiful, if a little breezy evening Beaufort won the toss and opted to play with the aid of the wind. The first half was evenly contested with our girls, probably shading the possession stats slightly, but scores were hard to come by. Only 2 points separated the teams at half time. Legion 0-06 Beaufort 0-04. The second half started with Legion taking full advantage of the breeze to work some fine team scores. Beaufort rallied well and battled on, but scores were difficult to come by. Our Legion ladies pulled away as the half wore on and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Thanks to the Beaufort girls and management for a very sporting contest and to referee Sean Courtney. Next up in Round 3 is a trip to Mid Kerry to meet MKL Gaels.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS GAME
Well done to 4 of our players Sophie O'Shea, Aitana Bowler, Sean Lyne and Conor Moynihan who all played on the Kerry Primary Schools Teams at half time in the Munster Senior Football Semi Final between Kerry and Tipperary in Fitzgerald Stadium. Aitana represented Lissivigeen school, Sean Loreto, while Sophie and Conor represented Lough Guitane. Well done to them all and no doubt they enjoyed the experience of playing in front of a sizeable home crowd in the famed Park.
