ALL IRELAND  NO.39
A huge congratulations to Brian Kelly, Goalkeeping coach and Darragh Lyne for the part they played in Kerrys 39th All Ireland win in Croke Park yesterday. In what was a comprehensive showing Jack O Connors men put on an exhilarating display to run out 1-26 to 0-19 winners. A special part of the day is the celebration of the jubilee team, in this instance, the 2000 All Ireland champions. Congratulations to Sean Hegarty and Peter O Leary who were both honoured as part of that in Croke Park yesterday.

DEVELOPMENT SQUADS
Well done to Cian Hegarty, Jamie Fleming and Conor Moynihan who were part of the U15 Kerry Development Squad that defeated Cork in an All Ireland semi final in the Fitzgerald Stadium on Saturday morning. Jake Coffey, Samuel Scroope , Ronan O Brien, and James Murphy,  were in Clare on Saturday to take on Longford for the Kerry South Development U16 squad. They won  by 2-14 to 1-14. Mark Looney and Jack Culloty are also part of the squad. Patrick Mac Sweeny, Robert Murphy, and Cian Whitty were on  Kerry South U14 duty as well with a  home game at the Centre of Excellence in Currans against Cork.

U12 BOYS
Our U12 boys' first outing in the East Kerry league Go Games series was in Kenmare on Thursday evening . Our hosts had two well drilled and determined team ready for our visit . Our green and white team started slowly and shortly before half time found their rhythm and had some good passages of play with some good team scores . Kenmare kept attacking as the game wore on. A quiet, similliar affair with the black and white team two well matched and very even teams played out a great game that was very even throughout. In the end, kenmare edged both games by the narrowest of margins. Thanks to Kenmare for hosting and excellent refereeing by the young whistlers .The game marked the end for our visiting Spanish resident, Eric Dominguez. Eric has played with us for a year and is one of the best players in the group . He will be missed hugely not only for his football ability but also he is a great guy . We wish Eric and his family the very best in their travels back home . Erics brother Nando last training session with the clubs U16s also came during the weel before he too returned home to Spain.
Nando joined us a year ago and has become a valuable member of our squad. He’s a natural footballer and his skills improved very quickly. He played some super football for our B team and had a great game in our east Kerry league final win over Glenflesk in May.  We presented him with one of our jerseys as a little reminder for his time with Legion.  Best of luck to Eric, Nando and his family, and we hope to see them again in Derreen soon playing football or supporting the lads.

U16 BOYS
Our U16 boys played their last group game in Division 9 on Wednesday evening  away in Scartaglen. We faced each other earlier in the year in the East Kerry league, and again, tonight, it was a tight affair. It was 13 a side, so it allowed for an open game of football.  We had the aid of the slight breeze in the first half, but it was the home side that had the better of the opening exchanges and lead 1-09 to 1-05 at half time.
Scartaglen extended their lead midway through the second half, but in fairness to our lads, they grew into the game and made the Scart goalie make two fine saves. We continued to press, and a well taken goal and point cut the gap to two points, but we ran out of time. Final
Score Scartaglen A 1-14 Killarney Legion 2-9.
We’re in the division 9A semi-final v Ballymac B in the next week.  Time and date TBC.

U16 LADIES
The girls battled brilliantly on Tuesday evening in Direen to earn a deserved draw in what was an extremely competitive but very sporting County League Division 2  encounter. Trailing by five points midway through the second half, they showed great resilience and character to keep pushing and were rewarded with a well-worked equaliser in the final seconds of the game. Thanks to Listowel for a very sporting match and to John Purcell for officiating. Final Score Killarney Legion 2-8 Listowel Emmets 2-8

KERRY PETROLEUM INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURE
