In Division 1 we are entertaining Glenbeigh/Glencar on Saturday  in Direen which has a 5pm throw in . On Sunday our Division 6 side are heading to Tralee to face Strand Road with a 3.30pm throw in time.

SENIOR LADIES
After gaining promotion from Division 3, our senior ladies kicked off their Division 2 Donal Curtin campaign on Sunday away to MKL Gaels in Listry. In a tough competitive first half, MKL played with the aid of the breeze and lead at HT 2-06 to 0-04. Our ladies came out in the second half and took the game to the opposition with the first 2 points of the half, only to then concede a goal against the run of play, which proved crucial. Some solid defending by the opposition ment scores were hard to come by with MKL coming out deserving winners 3-10 to 0-08
Next up is Ballymac in Round 2 next Sunday in Direen.

ST PATRICKS DAY PARADE
Well done to our St Patricks Day Parade entry as it won the prize for Best Sporting Group, the Killer O Callaghan Trophy,  at the  prize giving ceremony during the week.  Anyone who saw the production  will acknowledge that it was a well deserved acololade. As with all these efforts there is a busy and active committee pulling the strings and huge credit must be given to Brita Hegarty, Denise Fogarty,  Dave Randles and Timmy O Donoghue who coordinated it.  On the day Clare Duke, Brian Looney, Suzanne Smith, Gerry Adams, Sean Murphy, Mike Pierce, Michael Bernard O Donoghue and Ted Healy  all played starring roles in the guise of Irish legends such as Paschal Sheehy,  Daithi O Se ,  Eileen Dunne, St Patrick and even Santa Claus.  Not forgetting the many kids and volunteers who were part of the winning effort.

SATURDAY MORNING ACADEMY
The weather warning in place for Saturday failed to materialise and our Academy enjoyed another spring like morning . The Academy will continue for the next few months and boys and girls aged 4-10 are always welcome. The morning was also our first morning introducing Hurling to the Academy. The skill levels on show were top notch and it will continue every Saturday as well.

MOTHERS AND OTHERS
Our Mothers and Others group returned from their winter break during the  week . Deemed as social football with a twist or two it is the ideal outlet for any ladies interested in some exercise and more importantly fun. The group are going from strength to strength but as always are open to new members joining with the emphasis on three "F"s...Fitness, friends and fun. It continues every Thursday night from 8-9pm in Direen.

KERRY
Congratulations and best of luck to both the Kerry Senior Mens and Ladies teams who have made their respective National  League Finals in the coming weeks.
