SENIOR LADIES
Capping off a great week for the LGFA department were the Senior ladies with a win against Castlegregory / Annauscaul on Sunday morning . The West Kerry outfit had won their three games while the home side were out to atone for their first defeat of the season in Round four to ISG. Setting about their task straight away by they took an early lead as both teams adapted to difficult conditions after a damp mprning. A couple of well worked goals before half-time saw the hosts lead 2-07 to 0-04 at the short whistle. The second half continued in a similar vein with Legion taking the game to the opposition. Strong running and some well worked team scores together with solid defending and goalkeeping were the order of the day in a solid performance with Legion running out winners . Final Score Killarney Legion 4-15 Castlegregory / Annauscaul 0-06.
A minutes silence was observed before throw in as a mark of respect, as one of the Castlegregory/Annauscaul players' mother had passed away last week. We extend our condolences to the club and family.
U13 BOYS
There was a cracking game in Ballymacelligot in the opening round of phase 2 of the County League on Sunday evening. The visitors made a fast start but the home side clawed their way back into the game by half time. A see saw second half saw our boys pull through, but only just, by the bare minimum. All present were in agreement that it was a cracking game .
U15 BOYS
Well done to our U15 team who qualified for Division 1 County Final with a fine win over Keel / Listry in a game played in Listry on Wednesday evening. An excellent first half performance , executing some great scores and defending strongly throughout the pitch helped to build a 2-8 to 1-4 lead at half time. Keel/Listry started the second half strongly and scored two goals in the opening minutes of the second half to reduce the gap to the minimum. But the lad responded very well to regain control of the the game kicking some nice points and capping it off with a brilliant goal. It sets up a final date with Firies, and if the two teams recent meeting is anything to go by were in for a cracker.
Such is the vagaries of sport Keel / Listry didn't have time wait long to exact revenge, knocking out the lads in the semi final of the Feile competition in Tralee on Saturday morning. A busy Friday evening in Killorglin helped the U15s qualify for the semi final but the ball bounced the other way on this occasion. But a hectic week of football and no doubt all eyes now on the big Division 1 final.
U17 BOYS
A depleted U17 Boys team travelled to face County League champions Kenmare in Round 2 of the East Kerry Division 1 League. The hosts were in top form and ran out winners.

KERRY U20S

U12 GIRLS
Our U12 Girls Green and White Teams played their final East Kerry phase 1 games last Tuesday evening against Scartaglen in Direen. There was plenty end to end action from both sides who both gave as good as they got. Thanks to Scartaglen for a spirited game and look forward to a second encounter later in phase 2 of the competition. Big thank you to our referees who officiated well.
FEILE U15 GIRLS
Fossa was the venue on Bank Holiday Monday for the Division 2 Couny Féile competition. A persistent breeze was the only element that the teams had to contend with throughout the day. The girls played four short games in the group stages and had great competitive games. Kerins O’Rahillys were the opposition in the semi-final where the girls did enough to advance to the final.
The final v Churchill was a rematch of the first game of the day, and another exciting game ensued. A combination of goals at one end and saves at the other end was enough to give the honours to the girls on the day.
Thanks to the referees on the day and for Fossa for hosting the tournament.
Well done to the girls for giving the supporters and coaches a great day out and coming away with the trophy on the day.
U16 LADIES
Our U16 ladies' green team played Scartaglen/Cordal on Thursday evening in an East Kerry Division 2B final in Fitzgerald Stadium. On a lovely balmy evening conditions were perfect, albeit with a slight wind. Our Legion girls settled into the game quickly going into a four point lead before Scart/Cordal registered their first score. The first half was a tight affair until the Legion Ladies raised their first green flag of the night, three more goals before the break put them in a commanding position at half time, Legion 4-07 Scartaglen/cordal 0-05.
To Scart/Cordals credit, they came out fighting in the second with a well worked early goal. Legion duly replied and cancelled it out with a goal of their own. A few well
worked team points kept a gap between the teams, but the girls from Scart/Cordal never gave up and registered another goal before the end. Some strong running and accurate Kick passing lead to some wonderful team scores with Legion running out deserving winners on the night, Legion 5-14 Scart / Cordal 2-08. Winning Captain Eva O Shea thanked referee Jason O Brien for a good game and Scartaglen/Cordal for a sporting match before thanking her coaches, teammates and their parents. The celebrations continued after in Four Star Pizza.
The girls break now for Junior Cert before commencing their Co League campaign.
DEEPEST SYMPATHIES
