MOTHERS AND OTHERS
A connection with the Cromane Mothers and Others group provided the opportunity for our counterparts to be one of only five Irish clubs to travel to Rennes in France to introduce them to a unique of football, GAA with a twist. Ladies from Wexford, Wicklow and Antrim headed aboard for what was heralded as a great initiative to promote Gaelic football for women of all ages and ability. Outside of the on field activities the hospitality was second to none and there was also time to view and visit the sights of the region. A great weekend was had by all and the talk now is of a trip to the Spanish city of Barcelona in November.
SENIOR LADIES
Our senior ladies wrapped up a great week for Legion Ladies teams when they hosted Laune Rangers on Sunday morning in Round 2 of the Credit Union Donal Curtin Cup. Starting in strong fashion, they opened up an early three point lead while playing against the breeze. Laune Rangers settled into the game, kicking their own scores as the half progressed before a well worked Legion goal made it 1-06 to 0-03 lead at the break. The visitors upped the intensity in the second half, but the defence held firm while maintaining the advantage. As the half went on, a few fresh legs were introduced with everyone contributing to a solid team performance. Another well worked Legion goal was followed by a Laune Rangers goal, and despite some late pressure, the ladies saw out the win on a scoreline of 2-08 to 1-06

U11 BOYS
Rathmore was the venue for the opening round of the U11 boys game and as is always the case at the Sliabh Luachra venue you earn your corn. Two fine games ensued and well done to coaches Andy O'Sullivan, Fergal O Donnell and Kieran O Shea for looking after the teams. Next up is Fossa, who travel into Direen on this Thursday, April 18th.
U15 BOYS
The U15 boys made it two from in Division 1 of the U15 County League. Following on from their impressive win over Glenbeigh /Glencar /Cromane they were equally empathic as they put a highly rated John Mitchels side to the sword. The win put them at the summit of the table and there is plenty of potential in this young team. Final score Killarney Legion 4-13 John Mitchels 2-7.
U15 Boys Div 9 County League
The Green Team played their first game in County League in Glenflesk on Saturday evening against Glenflesk/Kilgarvan. All 19 boys played very well in a good win. They are out again this Monday, April 15th, at home against Na Gaeil.
U17 BOYS
The U17 Boys bowed out at the semi final stage of Division 1 of the County League. Facing neighbour's Dr.Croke's in Lewis Road they put in a spirited performance but ultimately were left to rue the absence of some key personel, especially in the front line. They performed admirably throughout, leading by 0-5 to 0-4 at half time. The second half was equally tight but a defining moment came around the three quarter stage when the Croke's crossbar was rattled , with the sides level. And as if to underpin that moment, soon after the home side pounced with a superb goal to sway the game in their direction. Plenty solace can be gleamed from a extremely competitive competition and will give the team a real boost as they enter the County Championship on their own. Final score Dr Croke's 1-10 Killarney Legion 0-8.
U12 LADIES
On a rare fine evening our U12 teams entertained Dr Croke's and both sides served up some very enjoyable fare. In total 32 girls lined out in the green and white , and young Aindi and Evan made their refereeing debuts look seamless.
U16 LADIES
Both U16 teams were in action with the white team facing Spa in their opening game. A strong first half showing laid the foundation for a 7-12 to 2-8 win. The Green team had home advantage for their engagement with Beaufort. A score fest ensued and when the final tallies came they had their noses just in front. Final score Killarney Legion 4-16 Beaufort 5-12.
