EAST KERRY SUPERLEAGUE
Our Senior Men opened up their East Kerry Super League campaign with a comfortable win over Fossa in Direen. Leading by 1-6 to 0-5 at half time courtesy of a Sam Benson goal, they pushed further clear in the second half thanks to another Benson goal and further strikes from Eoghan O Sullivan and Peter Mc Carthy. Final Score Killarney Legion 4-11 Fossa 0-8.

EAST KERRY ALL STARS
The East Kerry Gala All Star Awards were held in the GlenEagle Hotel last Friday night. Despite our narrow defeat to Dr Crokes in the O'Donoghue Cup final we still had eight nominees up for recognition. Five of the eight were ultimately successful with Brian Kelly, Peter O Sullivan, Cian Gammell, Darragh Lyne and Finbarr Murphy all collecting gongs. Brian Kelly kept four clean sheets in the O'Donoghue Cup and the All Star winning goalkeeper was soundness personified behind his defence. His kick outs were pinpoint and his safety under the high ball is unparalleled.  Peter O Sullivans versatility in either the full back or half back line kept a number of the county's top forwards under wraps. With lightning speed he also was a springboard for many counter attacks, his pace making him a serious threat and a worthy recipient of an East Kerry All Star. Cian Gammell is the holder of two All Ireland minor medals and a Hogan Cup in 2016 with St Brendans College. He has been a mainstay of Kerry intercounty panels since. If he continues to perform to the level he did in the O Donoghue Cup campaign a recall to the County colours could be in the offing. Darragh Lyne was an All Ireland winner in 2018 ,he has also represented Kerry at U20 level. His performance against Kilcummin in the semi final in atrocious conditions was outstanding and he is flagged as being one to watch in 2024. Finbarr Murphy was a consistent scorer all year , the seven point contribution against Fossa was his best performance of the year. His accuracy off either foot from both play and placed balls was instrumental in his team's run to the O Donoghue Cup. Coming from a family steeped in Gaelic Football, the Murphys from Mill Road, Finbarr is a worthy recipient. Also nominated were Darragh O Doherty, Ryan O'Grady and Jamie Alade and no doubt all three will be looking to push on this year also.
