O DONOGHUE CUP
Our Senior Men qualified for the final four of the blue riband East Kerry O'Donoghue Cup with a hard fought win over Fossa in Direen on Sunday afternoon. The reigning All Ireland Junior Champions lined out without the Clifford Brothers but the supporting cast battled gamely. They led by 0-3 to 0-2 after twelve minutes with Finbarr Murphy and Ryan O Grady on target. Finbarr struck the next three points and Peter McCarthy set up Rob Leen to make it 0-6 to 0-4 after 25 minutes. Finbarr added to his tally just before the break while James O Donoghue made it 0-8 to 0-4. Points from Darragh Lyne , Finbarr and Ryan O'Grady made it 0-11 to 0-6 as David and Paudie Clifford were summoned into action. They made an instant impact but points from the O Sullivans substitute David and Eoghan kept it at a four point game. Brian Kelly pulled off a top drawer save to deny David Clifford and further efforts from Finbarr, from a free, and a beauty from David O Sullivan saw the final score read 0-16 to 0-11 in the end. The draw for the semi finals were made directly after the game and it sees Dr Crokes play Spa in Fitzgerald Stadium on Saturday at 2pm while we face Kilcummin at the same venue on Sunday at the same time.

MATCH DAY
The O Donoghue Cup Quarter Final game with Fossa was noteworthy as it was our first time hosting a major championship game on our new All weather pitch. The ongoing care and maintenance of the pitch meant the surface was in great nick but there was another effort that must be acknowledged off the pitch. A big thank you to everyone who helped with the stewarding, erecting of pitch fencing, car parking, selling of lotto tickets and the operating of a shop and the scoreboard. A fine example that teamwork works as well off the pitch as it does on it.

The route will change weekly and the long term hope is that in the New Year to bring this on to a starter running group for those who wish to. This is open to Killarney Legion GAA Club associates that are not with Killarney Mothers and Others Legion and would like to join us. Only two little rules.1. Overs 18s only and 2. No pets.
