SENIOR LADIES
The curtain was drawn on our Senior Ladies year earlier today when we exited the Junior B Championship at the semi-final stage where we travelled to face an amalgamation of Castlegregory / Annauscaul. It promised to be a tough encounter for our ladies after Castlegregory /Annauscaul went unbeaten to top their group. And so it proved but not without a fight. In a tough sporting battle, the home side took the win on a scoreline of 3-13 to 1-10, and so after 67 training sessions and 19 games, our ladies' campaign finishes up a week earlier than hoped. A big thank you to our panel of players for the time and dedication they gave this year and to our management team. Thank you to our supporters for getting behind the ladies this year. Thank you also to our team sponsor JMReidys of Main Street for their support this year. We look forward to seeing our Ladies team compete again next year.

O SULLIVAN CUP
Our Senior B team will face Fossa in the quarter final of the O Sullivan this weekend October 13th/14th. The O Donoghue Cup will commence when East Kerry are finished with their County Championship campaign. Brian Kelly, Rob Leen , Cian Gammell, Darragh Lyne, Finbarr Murphy, Eoghan O Sullivan and Will Shine are all part of the East Kerry effort which continues with a quarter final date in Austin Stack Park on Saturday where they face St Kierans.

U17 BOYS
The Minor Boys welcomed Kenmare to Direen on Sunday afternoon in the East Kerry Division 1 Championship semi final. The visitors were in control at half time but credit to our boys they battled away in the second half. The final score read 4-19 to 3-11 in favour of the Shamrocks and the lads now await the winner of the Division 2 quarter finals for their next outing.

U12 GIRLS
The U12 girls' Green team were in action again on Tuesday evening at home to Currow for the last of their Div 3 East Kerry league fixtures. Right out of the gate, the girls showed true grit and determination as they battled hard against their opponents. The game was well fought with very little between the teams. Heading into the second half, Currow were ahead on the scoreboard but the Legion girls fought back valiantly and a late surge from the home side was enough to excite the spectators as we awaited the final score at the whistle. It didn’t go Legion’s way but the girls overall performance on the night may have deserved more . Well done to all the players in action this evening. Thanks to Currow for a sporting contest, the referee and our super supporters. The girls now await the details of their East Kerry final .
Our Legion u-12 White team took to the field in Direen on Tuesday evening against a strong MKL Team in the East Kerry League. MKL took an early lead and never relinquished it. Losing one of our strong forwards to a minor injury did not help matters. Given that, the girls did not throw the towel in and there were a number of strong performances from individuals around the pitch. Congrats to our visitors on taking the points tonight. Thanks to the referee in charge this evening and to all who helped out, including our support. Again the team are awaiting details for an East Kerry final.

DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Club was well represented during the week lining out with East Kerry at the various age groups. On Saturday in Kilcummin East Kerry U13 hosted Mid Kerry on a perfect day for football. We has 6 girls on the panel but it was Mid Kerry who started the strongest and finished up winning by 8-05 to 4-11. Beibhinn O Donoghue, Claire Lyne, Aitana Junquera Bowler, Sophie O Shea, Melissa Bowler and Mary Pierce flew the flag for the Club. In the U15 competition. We had 7 representatives on the U15 ladies panel that were defeated by Mid Kerry in the competitions semi final. Andrea Murphy, Eabha Stack and Lauren Carey will be looking forward to the final as their East Kerry side qualified but only just, beating Mid Kerry in the semi final replay. We wish them well in the final.
